Sugar House Island has signed two new deals, adding to its growing business and education community. Study Group, on behalf of the University of Huddersfield – London, and global ship management company Anglo-Eastern have signed deals to take a combined 15,204 sq ft.
Both will take space at Colour Works, part of Chimney Walk, the Island’s newest and largest phase of commercial development, which was granted dual use status in 2024 following growing demand for high-quality education space in prime locations.
The University of Huddersfield – London, which is expanding its existing footprint, is one of a number of education occupiers on the Island, including Stratford College, UD Music, East London Dance and School 360. Meanwhile, Anglo-Eastern is the latest business to relocate its headquarters to Sugar House Island from other London areas. It joins the likes of fashion brand Sophia Webster and art publishers Phaidon who moved from Shoreditch and King’s Cross respectively.
Penny Cameron, Managing Director at Vastint UK, said, “These deals are a clear sign of the momentum building across the Island and the growing demand from forward-thinking organisations making the move to East London to be part of an integrated mixed-use environment, and to reap the benefits of Stratford’s impressive connectivity at a national, regional and international level.”
