2026 is turning out to be a landmark year for our client Tameside Council, with a series of major announcements which demonstrated the borough’s momentum and ambition.
The next wave of the Greater Manchester Good Growth Fund was confirmed, with £25m allocated to Tameside to support the delivery of new homes, transport infrastructure and the regeneration of Ashton town centre as part of a wider £420m injection into the region.
Planning approval for Godley Green marked another significant milestone, unlocking a new village community that will deliver more than 2,150 new homes alongside new active travel and public transport infrastructure, backed by investment from partners at MADE.
Connectivity also took centre stage, as Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham announced widespread improvements to bus services as part of the Bee Network. Tameside will benefit from improved 24-hour night bus services, strengthening links across the borough and with Manchester city centre, and improving access to jobs and homes.
