Virtual reality showcases The Lexicon Bracknell at successful open day

Virtual reality and 3D technology captured the imaginations of almost fifty retail brand representatives at an open day held to showcase The Lexicon Bracknell, and the impressive progress that has been made on the development.

Highlights of the day included a detailed construction site tour around areas of the 1 million sq. ft. site, allowing guests to view the quick progress of the construction works, and get a sense of the transformation of Bracknell Town Centre, which will include 580,000 sq. ft. of new retail, restaurants and leisure. Already 66 per cent pre-let (by floor area), The Lexicon Bracknell has attracted top fashion brands such as TopShop, TopMan, Marks & Spencer, Next, H&M, River Island and Primark. The Town Centre’s evening economy will also be transformed with the arrival of a 12-screen Cineworld and a host of high-quality restaurants, such as Nando’s, Wagamama, Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Carluccio’s and Chimichanga.

Close to fifty agents and brand representatives attended the event, which was hosted at The Lexicon marketing suite on the 13th floor of Ocean House, offering impressive views directly over the development site. There were presentations from Simon Russian, Head of Development at Legal & General Property, Richard Poyser, Retail Leasing Manager for The Lexicon Bracknell, and Victor Nicholls, Assistant Chief Executive at Bracknell Forest Council, as well as from guest speaker Hugo Fenwick, Group Trading Director at Fenwick Limited.

Using immersive 3D goggles connected to The Lexicon App through iPads and touch-table, attendees at the event were able to take a virtual reality tour of The Lexicon, enabling them to explore the development as it will be upon completion in Spring 2017.

Richard Poyser, Retail Leasing Manager at L&G, commented: “With Bracknell’s affluent catchment set to triple by 2017, and reach 1 million by 2024, this was a great opportunity for operators to join the major brands already committed to the scheme and see the incredible, fast-moving progress of the construction works and appreciate the sheer scale and quality of the opportunity being delivered”.

The Bracknell Regeneration Partnership (“BRP”), is a 50:50 Joint Venture between Legal & General Capital (“LGC”) and Schroder UK Real Estate Fund (“SREF”) working in partnership with Bracknell Forest Council (“BFC”), for the £240 million development The Lexicon, the new shopping and leisure destination in the heart of Bracknell Town Centre.
