‘Stockport’s stock keeps rising’ according to Property Week

Property Week journalist Adam Branson claims ‘Stockport’s stock keeps rising’ following a visit to the town to learn first-hand about one of the UK’s most substantial town centre regenerations.

A new benchmark in innovative town centre transformation, Stockport MDC, together with Stockport Council, Homes England and key partners such as Capital&Centric and Transport for Greater Manchester, is driving forward positive change for local people through the delivery of a major £500million masterplan that will bring new homes, jobs, green infrastructure and community spaces to the town centre.

With Stockport MDC the first of its kind to focus on regenerating a town centre, teamed with the scale of the masterplan, it is not surprising that Chris Cheap at Avison Young has described Stockport as the “poster child” for regeneration in Greater Manchester.

The Leader of the Council Mark Hunter sums it up nicely: “we’re blazing a trail that others are keen to follow.”
