Sophia Webster steps foot on Sugar House Island

British retailer Sophia Webster is moving its headquarters to Sugar House Island – a 26-acre mixed-use destination in Stratford.

The luxury shoe and accessories brand will take space in Dane’s Yard, the Island’s canal-side  “creative quarter” and will join the array of independent brands already on the Island, such as publisher Phaidon and sustainable urban gin and rum distillery and bar, Jim & Tonic.

The relocation to Sugar House Island is emblematic of how creative talent in the capital is shifting eastwards as well as highlighting the Island’s social offering, quality office space and connectivity.

The deal follows the recent practical completion of the next phase of development, Chimney Walk, which will deliver further commercial office and education space as well and retail and leisure space for even more independent brands.
