A vehicle for regional change

We are delighted to be working with Stockport’s Mayoral Development Corporation (MDC) – the first MDC in the UK to focus on town centre regeneration. Created by Greater Manchester Mayor, Andy Burnham, and chaired by the former head of the UK Civil Service, Lord Kerslake, the MDC is leading the transformation of a major 130-acre district aimed at transforming the town into the most sustainable, liveable and well-connected town centre in the Greater Manchester region.

To-date the MDC has successfully delivered the first stages of its masterplan, including Stockport Exchange, a major new workplace scheme which has attracted new businesses to the town centre, and The Mailbox, which saw the conversion of the former Royal Mail sorting office into 117 apartments and workspace.
