Coverdale Barclay’s must-sees at LREF 2025

CB Co-founder Director Ros Barclay and Account Manager Neha Iyer will be attending this year’s London Real Estate Forum at the Guildhall on 17th.

Here, Ros and Neha share the panels and discussions they’re most looking forward to seeing and participating in.

ROS BARCLAY’S ITINERARY

Repurposing retail destinations: lessons from Oxford Street

Having worked on the previous iteration of the Oxford Street District Transformation, I’m interested to hear from a mix of investors, designers and occupiers about the new plans for the area. We’ve represented Mayoral Development Corporations such as Stockport MDC, so I’ll be particularly keen to understand the panel’s view on how an Oxford Street MDC can be harnessed to deliver this much-needed the vision.

The Thames: the lifeblood of London

The untapped potential for placemaking and trade opportunities on the Thames is significant. We are working with Thames Freeport to demonstrate the investment and opportunity across two London boroughs and Thurrock. So I’m particularly looking forward to hearing from ARUP’s Jo Negrini, GLA’s Louise Duggan, and Katie Stewart at the City of London Corporation about what London can learn from other waterfront cities, to ensure a more resilient and thriving city for everyone.

The power of partnerships in delivering regeneration

I am especially looking forward to hearing from Muse – a new client and a well-respected developer that has been leading the charge in public / private sector collaboration – alongside LB Lewisham, Grainger and GLA, on how partnerships can unlock regeneration, and the delivery of much-needed new homes across the capital. I expect partnership and collaboration will be a key theme that runs through the conference this year. With a number of English Cities Fund (ECF) sites now with planning approval, I’m particularly interested in hearing from Lisa about how Muse’s partnership with L&G and Homes England has enabled them to overcome viability challenges, and what other emerging partnership models can learn from the path they’ve trodden.

NEHA IYER’S ITINERARY

Change is a constant – resilience, renewal and reinvention in the City of London

We work with several places and organisations across the City of London, including the Culture Mile BID and Devonshire Square. I’m looking forward to hearing from leaders across the City on the reinvention of the Square Mile, in line with the updated Destination City strategy and new City Business and Investment Unit, and the opportunity for local businesses to align with their own place strategies.

Culture Shock

I’ll also be attending the Culture Shock panel session, looking at the way, in an increasingly polarised society, culture can play a critical role in how we shape our cities and bring people together. Coverdale Barclay represents the impressive Sugar House Island neighbourhood in Stratford, so we’ve seen first-hand the impact that East Bank has had on the local area. I’ll be interested to hear from Tamsin Ace, Director at East Bank, on how they plan to collaborate with local cultural partners to further strengthen Stratford’s cultural identity.
