Out and about with Coverdale Barclay

Since immersion into interesting places, communities, buildings, networks and destinations is essential fuel for inspiration and ideas, needless to say the CB team like to get out and about.

Here’s our insights from the latest launches, tours, conferences, and events that the CB team has visited and attended across the UK this autumn.

Conference season

This autumn we attended BusinessLDN BIDS summit, London Real Estate Forum and Bisnow’s Women Leading Real Estate, amongst others.

Alongside the continued call for the reinstatement of tax-free shopping – noticeably omitted from the Autumn Statement – the industry also discussed at length the need for greater diversity and equality within the sector and stronger emphasis on impactful social value initiatives within developments. Such initiatives are seen as integral to advancing both our industry and urban spaces.

New launches and openings

Amongst new developments and places we visited this season were the redesigned Strand Aldwych by LDA Design, the opening of London College of Fashion at London’s newest cultural district, East Bank, and the Passivhaus project in Salford with Muse. The sheer grit, dedication and passion that goes into achieving Passivhaus Standard makes the whole process an incredible and surgically-precise undertaking
