Tunsgate Quarter welcomes a wave of shoppers on opening day

On Thursday 15th March, Tunsgate Quarter – an 80,000 sq ft shopping and dining redevelopment in the heart of Guildford town centre – opened its doors for the first time to a large, waiting crowd. The centre’s developer, Queensberry, The Mayor of Guildford, Cllr Nigel Manning, Leader of Guildford Borough Council, Paul Spooner, and Managing Director of Guildford Borough Council, James Whiteman, cut the ribbon before the spectators rushed through to browse the new shops, taking over five minutes for the stream of people to pass through the door.

A programme of entertainment, from musicians and local theatrical performances, to live art, followed, alongside promotions in the centre’s stores.

Coverdale Barclay has delivered the PR and social media for Tunsgate Quarter since pre-planning permission was granted in 2015. Coverdale Barclay also delivered the event management for the launch weekend.
